Groundwork was founded in 1977 by Peter and Michele Richardson, conducting landscape works primarily for local authorities and public bodies. Growing steadily over the years, we're now a team of over 40 professionals with a £5m annual turnover.
As our company has grown, so has the nature and scope of our work. Initially, the core functions were purely landscaping. However, our primary business operations have evolved to reflect current public and private spending. These days we provide the whole spectrum of services from landscaping to civil engineering.
Our client base consists of local authorities in the Greater Manchester conurbation, plus areas such as Kirklees, Calderdale, and Lancashire. In addition, we work with several housing associations and private organisations.
